I like a look of danger

I like a look of danger

in my cities

and in my men.

Pierced skies

and sinister eyes

draw me into the dark—

I pretend

to resist fast nights flitting

in those eyes

(Hell permitting)

of the stranger

I dare to call friend.

(Watch the lights as they die

in the park.)
